Why Austinites are Paying for a Social Life Again
With events happening each night, a bar on every corner, and enough Instagram invites to keep your calendar packed for months, Austin has no shortage of ways to meet others. So why are people paying to join clubs and communities when there are so many free ways to get social?
Because having somewhere to go isn’t the same thing as having somewhere you belong.
Whether it’s picking up a paddle, stepping into the dating scene, finding your creative weirdos, setting up your laptop, or exploring art and history in your city with your fellow foodies, there’s a community waiting to welcome you. But what makes these places worth the cost? We spoke with local businesses to find out what keeps people coming back and what transforms a group of strangers into something that feels like close-knit friends.
