Named Austin Opera’s General Director & CEO in October 2016, Annie Burridge has been swiftly building the company’s reputation through new partnerships and an institutional focus on workplace culture. Her optimistic insistence on believing in the “inevitability of success” has empowered her team to accomplish programmatic expansion in record-time.
On stage, Annie’s influence is most readily seen through the company’s new artistic initiative – Opera ATX – which brings groundbreaking artists and social justice-focused works to unexpected and unique venues throughout Austin. Since her arrival, the company has received two Innovation Grants totaling $470,000 to support her vision of expanding the company’s programming to authentically represent the diverse community and innovative spirit of Austin.
