Thailand is known as “The Land of Smiles.” And who wouldn’t want to travel to a place with a nickname like that? Known for its warm and welcoming culture, it has been on my bucket list since I was a child. As a kid, my first attraction to Thailand was the idea of riding an elephant. While that bucket list experience still rings true in adulthood, this gorgeous country has much more to offer!
While Bangkok and Phuket are the most well-known and busiest cities, both should not be missed. Another city on the short list is Chiang Mai, which is an outdoor-lover’s dream. It’s filled with national parks, waterfalls, mountains, and lagoons. While the trip to Thailand is quite a trek from Texas, the breathtaking beaches, excellent cuisine, unique culture, picturesque landscapes, and affordability are now what draws it to the top of my bucket list destinations.
