East Austin’s cultural compass just found true north—again.
Pershing, the East Side’s most intriguing hybrid of private club and creative hideaway, has unveiled its latest concept: Pershing Milkman, a bottled craft cocktail program and evening bar experience now operating out of Pershing East at 2501 E. 5th Street. Known for coffee by daylight and community energy throughout, Pershing East now enters its next phase—serving sun-soaked records, caviar pairings, botanical infusions, and take-home cocktails worthy of their own spotlight.
A Milkman With a Twist
From 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. daily, Pershing East transforms into Pershing Milkman—a vibey cocktail lounge where refined classics meet culinary experimentation. But it’s the delivery option that’s got Austin buzzing: Pershing Milkman’s ready-to-pour bottled cocktails are now available via Favor and DoorDash.
Curated by Pershing’s in-house mixologists and clarified for shelf stability, these cocktails include standout recipes like:
- Whiskey Punch: Bourbon, lemon, bergamot, Earl Grey tea, and honeycomb cereal milk
- Margarita: Blanco tequila, lime, curaçao, clarified in coconut milk
- Miami Vice: A tropical blend of rum, pineapple, strawberry, and Mahina coco
“Milkman is our way of letting people host the perfect party—without needing a bartender,” says Pershing Chief Creative Officer Kyle Lauterbach. “It’s hospitality in a bottle.”
The plan? To take Milkman even further, eventually offering these craft creations in Austin’s best bottle shops.
Cocktails, Culture, and Curation
On-site, patrons can explore an expanded cocktail menu that plays on classics with a Pershing twist—think Negroni riffs, an Iced Irish Coffee, and July’s frozen special, an Orange Creamsicle that’s summer in a glass. Mocktail lovers can sip on the Riverside Drive or Cobbler Collins, while bar snacks lean luxurious: burrata, caviar service, chicharrones, and celery salad served up with a designer’s eye for detail.
But it’s not just cocktails and bites that make this evolution so compelling.
Pershing East is now home to two exciting new collaborators:
- Sunshine Vinyl – a curated record shop and love letter to analog music culture
- THe Concord – a botanical café specializing in CBD-infused products, lotions, tinctures, and gummies—many of which can be added to your latte or cocktail upon request
Together, these three concepts turn Pershing East into a multi-sensory creative commons—where you can sip a clarified margarita, flip through vinyl, and browse handcrafted wellness items without leaving the building.
