Adventures in Telluride
Colorado may be one of the best states to visit for a last minute trip. Plenty of towns like Colorado Springs, Durango, Keystone, and Steamboat Springs offer something unique. But this year, I am itching to check out all that Telluride has to offer.
Spring in this former mining town is not terribly cold, with high temperatures averaging between the low 50s and 60s. Depending on the snowfall of the cold winter months, late season skiing and snowy activities are both viable options for spring break. From heli-skiing to snowshoeing and dog sledding, adventurist will find no shortage of thrilling experiences in this mountain town.
After the adrenaline rush subsides, hitting up the apres-ski spots the small town is known for will bring you back down to earth for a relaxing evening. I love the ski-in/ski-out access at the newly renovated Madeline Hotel and Residences, a luxurious resort that offers beautiful earthy interiors, incredible food, and of course, crisp mountain air. The views of the San Juan Mountains piercing the sky make the trip worthwhile in and of itself.
