At Meanwhile Brewing, the action never stops, and neither does the welcoming atmosphere. Soccer balls thud from the field, sand flies off volleyball courts, guitars hum from the stage, and laughter floats from families gathered around picnic tables. For this brewery, the beer is a starting point for a space built on connection, community, and everyday celebration.

Founded by brewmaster Will Jaquiss, whose family has deep roots in hospitality, Meanwhile is a passion project years in the making. After brewing school and a decade spent honing his craft in Portland, Will’s vision for Austin was bigger than beer. He set out to create a space where meticulously crafted pints bring people together and everyday moments turn into something memorable.

“We want people to feel welcome here, whether they’re plugged into the beer scene or not,” Conner Gilfillan, General Manager, explains. “Beer is the vessel, but the real goal is building relationships.”

Sports are woven into the fabric of Meanwhile’s culture. Their in-house soccer leagues keep the fields buzzing, and their brand-new sand volleyball courts have quickly become a local favorite. “We wanted the leagues to be an integral part of Meanwhile, not just something happening on the side,” Conner shares. “It’s about giving our community and staff a place to grow and connect.”

Meanwhile’s sprawling outdoor space is open every day of the week, anchored by a live music stage and a massive outdoor screen that brings big games to the crowd. Whether it’s catching a local band, cheering for your favorite team, or simply soaking up the sun, the energy is electric. There’s room for families, too, with a large pirate ship playscape where kids can climb, explore, and burn off energy while the adults kick back and enjoy the expansive outdoors.

But they don’t stop there. From vintage markets and book fairs to Diwali and Lunar New Year celebrations, Meanwhile is a space to discover something new and celebrate cultures from around the world. 

With a lineup of five top-notch food trucks, Meanwhile makes it easy to spend a full afternoon eating, drinking, and relaxing. From diving for a volleyball to chasing kids through the playscape and raising a glass to a last-minute soccer goal, this brewery proves that the best memories are made in motion.
