Santa’s Little Helper

A Holiday Sip

Words by Erin McWilliams Photo Courtesy of Jacoby’s Restaurant & Mercantile

Jacoby’s New holiday cocktail has a taste that’s anything but little.

‘Tis the season for a twist on traditional Eggnog. Warm up with this rich, rum-based drink and awaken your Christmas spirit with the smell of nutmeg and orange. While you enjoy this twist on a holiday classic, indulge your food cravings at Jacoby’s, while admiring the eclectic outdoor seating that makes you feel like you’re gathering in a friend’s backyard. On Tuesday nights, Happy Hour, which is best enjoyed overlooking the Colorado River on the patio, is all night–half off select cocktails and $5 select eats. In the spirit of giving and sharing, order off the Family Menu with your loved ones and treat yourself to your favorite comfort food, accompanied by the Santa’s Little Helper to remind you that even though the weather may not reflect it, Christmas is just around the corner.

Recipe:
1.5 oz Cana Brava Rum
2 oz Egg Nog
1 oz Cinnamon/Anise Simple Syrup

Directions:
Begin with your favorite eggnog (or start from scratch with this recipe) and mix in the rum and simple. Garnish with shaved nutmeg and an orange-swatch wrapped cinnamon stick.

Jacoby’s is best known for their Weekend Brunch. On Saturday and Sunday from 10am-3pm, head over for specialty brunch items unlike any other, like the Chicken Fried Steak and Waffles or the Strawberry Cake.

While waiting for a table… take a peek at the lesser known Mercantile, described as a “community focused, constantly evolving collection of Artisan Food, Vintage and Modern Goods, and Unique one of a kind finds.” If you’re waiting for a table, get some Christmas gifts out of the way!
