In 2016, an incredible opportunity presented itself to former Dallas-based entrepreneur Stephanie Houston to invest in HYE Rum – a project that had been in the making from co-founders Texas winemaker Benjamin Calais and distiller James Davidson. Hye is a small unincorporated town just outside of Johnson City on the famed 25-mile stretch of the 290 Wine Road – now the #2 ‘most traveled wine road in America.’
HYE Rum specializes in high-end bold island-inspired rums. Their goal is to keep the spirit intact, capturing the beauty and potential of full-bodied rums that are 100% fermented, distilled and bottled in Hye, Texas. Houston heads the HYE sales effort from her Eastside hub co-working space Atmosphere while commuting back and forth to the distillery in Hye and all around Texas as the demand for the product in restaurants and bars grows.
HYE has 6 rums available with the newest flavors being HYE Rum Spice and HYE Honey.
