On the Cover: Illustrator Caitlin Alexander is a rockstar! On a tight deadline, she executed our vision for this issue better than we could’ve imagined. She captured the vivid colors, rustic charm, and modern gyms that truly make the east side of Austin one-of-a-kind. From staples like Sam’s BBQ and Leal’s Tire Shop to modern landmarks like the Mueller Airport Tower and the African American Cultural Center, all the way to the minute details of the green birds that have made Patterson Park their home.
