#4: Telluride, Colorado
Tucked in a remote corner of southwest Colorado, Telluride is a quintessential mountain town connected to the Mountain Village by a 13-minute gondola ride that is free to the public. Visitors can enjoy shopping and fine dining after a day on the slopes, and the best way to experience the historic district’s cozy atmosphere is on foot. Snowshoeing is my preferred cardio, and I would love to try my hand at dog sledding before cozying up by the fire at one of the apres-ski spots the small town is known for. The newly renovated Madeline Hotel and Residences is the perfect base camp, offering one to four-bedroom residences with ski-in/ski-out access and a modern Alpine esthetic.
