As the days are getting crisper, East Austin families are trading in their A/C-heavy outings for fresh air, sunshine, and outdoor patios. Between Astroturf playscapes, weekly kids’ music events, and happy hours for the adults, these six family-friendly patios offer a little something for everyone.

Cenote {Windsor Park}

With its expansive seating, sun-shaded tables, and natural garden décor, the patio behind Cenote’s second location in Windsor Park is a true hidden gem. Although the restaurant is situated near a major highway, Cenote’s fully enclosed, vine-covered backyard is an oasis for sipping beer, playing board games, and letting the kiddos run. A tip for the parents: most beer and wine glasses are $1 off during happy hour from 4-7pm.
