The Social Side of Writing

Writing may be a solitary act, but at ATX Writing Club, it’s never a lonely one. Founder Zac Solomon explains, “Writers often feel isolated, probably even more so than the average person.” By bringing writers together in the same room, the club transforms isolation into a sense of belonging, creating a space where creativity thrives alongside meaningful conversation.
That sense of kinship is at the heart of ATX Writing Club. Each gathering follows a simple, yet intentional, rhythm: introductions and conversations in small groups, an hour of quiet writing, followed by time to connect and collaborate.

“We strike a balance between focusing on our projects and socialization,” Zac adds. “A lot of seasoned writers already have strong routines, so they’re showing up for the conversations just as much as the writing.”
The club has grown from casual meetups into a thriving community with multiple levels of involvement. Newcomers can drop in for free to ‘test the waters,’ while writers working on books or larger projects find themselves surrounded by peers who share their focus and drive. For published authors, the club can become a hub for book launches, editorial connections, and exploring monetization opportunities.

Inclusivity is key, especially for quieter personalities, so Zac ensures large gatherings feel intimate by greeting every attendee at the door, explaining what to expect, and organizing people into small groups. “If an introvert sees that a hundred people signed up, they might not come. But once they arrive, it feels small and homey,” he explains.
The result is a creative space where conversations fuel growth. Sharing plans and progress sparks unexpected insights, helping writers see their own projects from new angles. “There’s something about hearing other perspectives,” Zac reflects. “It gets you thinking about your own problem in a new way.”

And ATX Writing Club proves that writing doesn’t have to be a solitary act. No matter if you’re drafting your very first story or launching your next book, this club invites you to find people alongside a spark of inspiration.
