‘Tis the season for cozy meals full of fall flavors. Autumn always promises new, inventive dishes from some of Austin’s best restaurants. Here are a few fall menus to check out this season.

Intero

Intero’s menu is always thoughtfully curated, and it’s clear that their fall menu received the same attention to detail. An autumn dish they recently added is a roasted butternut squash that’s topped with burnt onion, walnuts, and beef fat hollandaise. Another highlight of the fall menu is their handmade tagliatelle with smoked duck ragu, persimmon, tarragon, and hazelnut. For dessert, one of their seasonal additions is a brown butter cake. The cake is a balance of warm and creamy with cinnamon gelato, toasted meringue, topped with candied pecans.

Suerte

Guided by their masa-focused menu, Suerte always creates savory interior Mexican dishes. For fall, they’ve put a seasonal spin on their staple: carne asada. The spread includes oak grilled meat full of authentic Mexican flavor, fried mushrooms, charred onions, and a huitlacoche brown butter puree. Precede this savory dish with one of their light and tasty appetizers like the crispy fingerlings, followed by a cocktail or dessert to complete this flavorful fall meal.

Rosewood

Located in a historic Victorian style home, Rosewood serves up southern-inspired fare year round. This fall, the restaurant added several seasonal dishes including the stuffed quail with morcilla, sesame seeds, and mole. The seasonal offerings also include a new vegetarian dish: potato gnocchi. The gnocchi is combined with fried oyster mushrooms, celery root cream, and green onion to create a vegetarian-friendly comfort food dish at its finest.

Sour Duck

In addition to the rotating selection of baked goods that can be found behind the counter at Sour Duck Market, they also offer a range of lunch and dinner dishes. A seasonal favorite, their Goat Chili is the perfect complement to a cold fall day. The hearty bowl is made with yogurt, topped with cheddar croutons, and layered with cozy fall flavors.

The rotating menu at L’Oca D’Oro always delivers fresh and inventive creations, and this season’s dishes are no different. A recent addition to their menu is a roasted butternut squash. The perfectly fall dish includes mushrooms, mustard greens from Boggy Creek Farm, and pepita dragée. Paired with one of their many selections of Italian wines, the meal is sure to be as delicious as it is seasonal.

Parkside

Parkside’s new executive pastry chef, Amy Brown, brought with her a slew of seasonal treats to the downtown gastropub. A couple of the decadent fall desserts include brownie ala mode with Vietnamese coffee ice cream and bananas, and a fried apple pie topped with whiskey and lemon-thyme ice cream. Another perfectly Autumn-themed addition is the Pumpkin Crème Brulee Maple. The sweet dish is topped with poached pears, whipped cream cheese, and spiced pecans.
